Bracco Foundation is headed by the President, Diana Bracco, flanked by a Steering Board, a Management Committee and the Board of Auditors.
The Foundation has its headquarters in Milan, in Via Cino del Duca 8, in the ancient Palazzo Visconti, built at the beginning of the 18th century by the Spanish nobleman Giuseppe Bolagnos in the typically Lombard late baroque style with its lightness of form, decorative grace and forms of late baroque that precede rococò. It houses the Teatrino, built by Duke Giuseppe Visconti, who purchased the property at the beginning of the 20th century. The Teatrino is the Foundation’s laboratory of scientific and cultural ideas. The Foundation has a representative office in Rome.
However, the ties between Bracco Foundation and Milan are very strong, both because of the role the metropolis plays in the country and in Europe and because of the open and international nature of the city that is a tradition of Milan and which Expo 2015 forcefully relaunched.
Support for the project
Braccosine chooses the field of liver cancer as the main direction of corporate social responsibility. The solidarity project aims to help high-risk suspected but poor patients undergo contrast-enhanced ultrasonography to rule out early liver cancer.
Contrast-enhanced ultrasound training center
The center focuses on the training of CEUS skills for Chinese ultrasound physicians. In the past three years, the center has provided rich learning opportunities and broad communication platform for more than 1,000 ultrasound physicians from nearly 500 hospitals, helping ultrasound physicians better master and apply new technologies, assisting clinical treatment plans, and benefiting patients. In cooperation with the ultrasound branch of the Chinese medical association, five Chinese contrast-enhanced ultrasound training bases have been established, which will be conducive to the standardized training and promotion of contrast-enhanced ultrasound nationwide.
New generation project
Bracco has always been concerned about the development of young people because they are the agents of the future of society. Adhering to the purpose of the parent company, Braccosine started the new generation project in cooperation with radiology branch of Chinese medical association and Bracco foundation. Every year, the project enlists 100 young physicians to share the rich international expert resources of Bracco in the classroom, and learn how to design clinical research, write scientific research articles, publish in international journals and other courses. In addition, young physicians are helped to improve their management and leadership skills through lectures and group discussions. They will have the opportunity to further study hospital policy and departmental management in Europe.
The youth program
The program provides young Chinese physicians with the opportunity to study and practice new technologies in Italy. The program began in 2011, and 22 physicians have received the award since then.
